Art Sellers
2010 besuchte ich zum ersten Mal die ART COLOGNE, die 1967 als weltweit erste Kunstmesse etabliert zur führenden Kunstmesse Deutschlands wurde. Obwohl ich neugierg auf Kunst und als Fotograf selbst ein Künstler bin, galt mein wesentliches Interesse nicht der dort gezeigten Kunst, sondern den Menschen, die versuchen, Kunst aller Art an andere Menschen zu verkaufen. Der Kunstmarkt ist eine eigenartige Sache, und weil mich Menschen und ihr Ausdruck sehr interessieren beschloss ich, mich auf die Kunstverkäufer zu konzentrieren und machte sie zum Objekt meiner Beobachtung.
In 2010 I made my first visit to the ART COLOGNE, Germany’s leading art fair that was established in 1967 as the world’s first Art Fair. Although I am -as a photographer- an artist myself my substantial interest was not to view the displayed art but the people who try to sell all kinds of art to other people. The art market is a curious thing, and one of my main interests in photography are people and their expression, thus I decided to concentrate on the sellers of art and made them my subject.
