Cosplayer
Cosplay hat seinen Ursprung in Japan. Der Begriff ist die Abkürzung des englischen Begriffs costume play, den man frei mit „Kostümspiel“ übersetzen kann. Beim Cosplay stellt der Teilnehmer eine Figur durch Kostüm und Verhalten möglichst originalgetreu dar. Seit dem Sommer 2008 besuche ich mit meiner Linhof Master Technika, eine 4×5 inch Laufbodenkamera, die in Bonn jährlich stattfindende AnimagiC. Die AnimagiC als Anime- und Manga-Convention ist nicht nur für deutsche Cosplay-Fans ein Pflichttermin, denn für drei Tage verwandelt sich die Bonner Beethovenhalle samt Umgebung für alle Japan-Fans in einen kunterbunten Place-to-be. Interessant am Cosplay ist nicht nur, dass die Teilnehmer ihre Kostüme in der Regel komplett selbst schneidern und basteln, sondern auch die Atmosphäre auf der Convention, in die man – auch ohne Kostüm – wie durch einen Strudel gezogen eintauchen und sich wohlfühlen kann.

Cosplay has its roots in Japan. Since the summer of 2008 I take my Linhof Master Technika, a 4×5 inch field camera, to the AnimagiC, a yearly held anime and manga convention in Bonn/Germany. A mandatory date not only for German cosplay fans, for the Bonner Beethovenhalle and its surroundings turns to a multicoloured place-to-be for all Japan fans for three days. Generally the participants are crafting their costumes themselves. Not only because of this cosplay is interesting, but the atmosphere at the convention can be like a maelstrom that draws you in and make you feel good – even without a costume.
